Planning Your Website

Plan your site in alignment of your overall business strategy.

  • Define what do you do?  Who is your target market.
  • What is your goals?  Write them down.
  • Define areas you can use your website to increase revenue.
  • Define areas you can use your website to decrease costs.
  • List 10 search phrases you believe people may use when searching for your product.
  • Using the key words above, search for your competition. Who are they?
  • Define the design by listing sites you like.
  • Define the navigational links or menu system. This step will be modified as we build your site, but it is important to establish a baseline.
  • Write the content for the pages, this is a draft and will be edited for flow.
  • Supply the photos of your business, purchase professional photos, or a combination of both.

Usability.

Flash websites are fun to look at, but they aren't the best way to go for most businesses. Your customers don't want to wait one minute for a video to load; they want to find the product / services they are looking for quickly.
